About Sarah

Sarah's journey into the world of acupuncture and Chinese medicine began at a tender age of 4, surrounded by the rich practice and understanding of these ancient healing arts. Her mother, Lily Shwe-yin Clark (nee Kyan), a highly experienced acupuncturist with over 35 years of expertise, brought her knowledge from Taiwan to the UK in the 1970s and established a private practice within the family home. Inspired by her mother's profound influence, Sarah embarked on her own path of professional development, obtaining accreditation and certification as an Acupuncture and TCM practitioner from Middlesex University. This rigorous 4-year full-time Bachelor of Science degree program, situated in Highgate, London, is internationally recognised and collaboratively taught in partnership with the esteemed Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine and the Ming-Ai Institute, London, the program proudly holds full accreditation from the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Notably, it is affiliated in partnership with the renowned University of Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China, making it the only degree course of its kind taught outside of China. Sarah's dedication and unwavering commitment to her studies were rewarded with a First Class Honours degree, alongside the esteemed 'Prize for Excellence in TCM Studies,' a testament to her exemplary achievements. Prior to graduation, she gained invaluable practical experience through a two-year clinical practice at the Asante Academy of Chinese Medicine, as well as the pain clinics of both the Whittington and North Middlesex NHS Hospitals.

Sarah's Approach and Specialism

In addition to her Bachelor of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sarah has pursued specialised postgraduate training in fertility, gynaecology, and obstetrics. She has gained a deep understanding of both traditional Chinese medicine and modern reproductive techniques and for the past 14 years has been dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to individuals and couples on their journey towards optimal reproductive health.

Sarah's approach is rooted in compassion and personalised treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient. Her philosophy is to improve and maintain the health of both parent and child, from pre-conception through to post-natal. A healthy conception is not just about fertility but the entire process from development of healthily matured eggs and sperm, to a smooth full-term pregnancy and birth of healthy babies. Our practice of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine can enhance both male and female sub-fertility and successfully treat specific cases of male or female infertility such as low semen parameters (count, morphology, motility) plus many gynaecological conditions, such as PCOS, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, various menstrual irregularities and recurrent miscarriage as well as supportive treatment to avoid ectopic pregnancy. Whether you are considering treatment to aid and fortify a natural healthy conception, or for complementary assistance to various ART (assisted reproductive technologies) such as IVF, IUI and ICSI treatment, Sarah's experience and expertise in the practice of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine can provide you with the best possible chance of a successful conception and healthy child. Sarah also treats during pregnancy for a variety of obstetric disorders and post-pregnancy conditions including, to name a few: nausea and vomiting, turning breech positioned babies, inducing labour, post-natal depression and insufficient breast lactation.
